The full form of B.Ed. is a Bachelor of Education. B.Ed. course is an undergraduate professional degree that prepares students to work as teachers in schools. The B.Ed. course duration is 2 years where it is necessary for teaching at the secondary (classes 6 to 10) and higher secondary (classes 11 and 12) divisions.

Bachelor of Education course can also be pursued through correspondence or distance learning, both of which generally have duration of 2 years. The B.Ed. course admission procedure can vary according to universities. Check for B Ed eligibility before starting up the admission process.

The specialization subject or stream of pursuance by a particular student prior to the pursuance of B.Ed. course determines the choice of subjects that he or she is allowed to teach. Minimum Qualification for B.Ed. Admission:

  1. Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) and /or Master’s Degree in Science/Social Science/Humanity/Commerce or Bachelor’s in Engineering/ Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission test to the B.Ed. programme.

  2. The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks for SC/ST/BC/EBC/WBC/Differently abled and other categories shall be as per the rules of Government of Bihar.

  3. For B.Ed. admissions, there is minimum 19 years of age for offering admission to this course. But no maximum age are assign.

  4. Note: Most of the entrance examinations are conducted in the month of May and June.

B.Ed. Syllabus

B.Ed Admission Process

There are plenty of colleges and universities offering B.Ed. The admission process for the same varies from institute to institute. Few steps are given below to help you with the admission process:

  • Visit either the official website of the Institute or the Admission office of the Institute to avail the application forms for admission in B.Ed course.
  • Fill the application form as directed and then upload the asked documents.
  • Either you have to appear for the Entrance exams or you have to wait for the merit list to be released by the college or the organization.
  • Once the results of the entrance exams will be announced or the merit list will be released, selected candidates have to appear for the further documentation process.
